[00:00:00] Hello, welcome to the Productivity Genius Podcast. I'm your host, Kelli Fifield, and I'm hoping this episode is going to save you thousands and thousands of future hours. And the way we're going to do that is with AI, things like ChatGPT, Gemini, all of these really cool AI tools that are now available. If you're not using these tools currently, what's in your way?

What's stopping you? If you're like a lot of people it's like Overwhelm and confusion and a lack of time. What feelings come up for you when you think about like integrating AI maybe into your business or in your life? Is it like expansive open emotions? Like are you excited or psyched? Are you motivated or determined or you like chill and content like this is great if you're having positive expansive open emotions, then most likely You're on track to take advantage of these tools.

But many of us are feeling anxious or overwhelmed when we think about AI. Or even scared fearful [00:01:00] because of some of the negative uses of it. Some people are even angry about it. And if we're feeling this way, then obviously we're much less likely to take advantage of it or use it in any substantial way.

Now our emotions come from lots of different things. But the line of attack I'd like to use today is to look at the way we're thinking about AI to control our emotions and therefore our future actions. So the way I like to think about AI, or the way I'm thinking about it now, is that it's super new. You could probably argue that it's been around longer than I'm thinking it was, but Really, it hasn't been available to the general public for very long at all, so it's super new.

Like, anyone who says they're an expert on it maybe spends a lot of time with it, but it's so new. No one's been able to use it for a very long time to say, yes, I've been using it for you know, 10, 15 years. It's pretty new, and we all know its uses and applications are absolutely going to explode. So I feel like we're at the beginning of this boom and for [00:02:00] once we actually know it.

It's like we have advanced knowledge that this is going to be huge. It's like, remember Blockbuster video, Blockbuster did not see the online streaming thing coming, We want to be like Netflix where we're like, Oh, this is the way of the future and jump on that early. Now you might say, yeah, but everyone knows this like Netflix.

was one of the few companies that was aware of this. Like doesn't everyone know AI is going to be big? And I think most people do, but how many people do you know who are actually using it a lot? I know I don't know that many people, so I still feel like there's a huge opportunity to jump on this now.

I think we also have to be really careful about what we're consuming when it comes to people talking about AI. There are lots of. scary stories about how people are already using AI in negative, bad, dangerous ways, hurting people, right? Stealing people's money, stuff like that. Just watch how much you consume those stories, how much attention you're giving [00:03:00] to them.

If that's a primary thing that you're consuming, then you're not going to really have great feelings towards AI, and you're much less likely to use it. Instead, choose with intention the type of material you're going to consume. So I think the most efficient way to do this, to promote your future use of AI, and therefore your future time savings, is to pick.

One or two mentors find some people who are Investing the time to research these tools Someone you trust and follow them and let them do all the testing and then try out the things they're suggesting. For me I've chosen to follow Rick Mulready if you are familiar with him his former business.

So if you want to steal my plan, this is my exact plan on Sunday mornings Rick sends his weekly newsletter. I read it with my morning cup of coffee.

I usually don't implement it then, but I just kind of get excited about the stuff he's sharing. And then I put time on my week to go in and dive deeper into what he's sharing and test everything out.

But even if you don't want to put that time on your calendar to test things, just reading the newsletter and getting your mind wrapped around some of the benefits and some of the things that can be used for it, you'll be ahead of everybody else pretty much when it comes to AI. And then when you hear about a tool that solves a problem for you in your life or your business, you're ready to jump on it

and it won't be so intimidating because you'll be so much more comfortable with it.
